So Last night , I was up WAY too late again on pintrest. However , by some miracle of God I still managed to get up in time to get Wednesday to daycare with 5 minutes to spare ! Bill and I managed a nice nap before moving the rest of everything out of the washroom , (that alone was pretty awesome ) . Hector actually showed up only 30 minutes later than promised , and within 15 minutes of his arrival I again had a functional kitchen sink with no leaks ! Yea ! (and bless him, he didn't even charge me ! ) ( you would have to know Hector to understand how truly rare it is that he does not charge , lol ! )
In order to finish clearing the way for the new washer and dryer , I had to effectively seal off the back hallway with stuff, since the washroom is also the storage room . Before I did this I planned ahead and left the side door unlocked so I could go through the backyard and prop open the gate for the delivery guys on my way. After I finished , I headed for the gate, and there I discovered/remembered the fatal flaw in my otherwise brilliant plan. The back gate only opens from outside. I was now trapped in the backyard. I had to go back in the laundry room , and eventually I managed to get Bill's attention . He had just unlocked the gate for me when we saw the Lowe's van coming around the corner ! Just in the nick of time !
Some of you may have realized this already, but I have some MAJOR OCD issues when it comes to my house and it's state. In other words , it had better be clean and organized or you can expect a psychotic Quiser ! ( I still have no idea how it works, but there appears to be a direct correlation between cleanliness and organization , and my level of personal happiness / amicability . However I came by it, it is certianly hard wired) Also, if my house is not up to my standards , and you add any stress, big or small, it will worsen. The worse the stress, the closer we veer towards a psychotic breakdown. I don't like it , but that appears to be the way it works. I suspect it's because if there is anything still to be done I generally can't sit down until there isn't ( the exception is sheer exhaustion or pain, I do have arthritis etc.)
Within an hour , I had clothes in the washer AND the dryer for the first time in almost 2 weeks ! And I had dishes in the dishwasher again ! And NO dishes in the sink again ! This ( and some Zeal, I'm not gonna lie) gave me the boost I needed and I was off and running like a Filly in the Kentucky derby ! I celaned and re-organized all my counter-tops in my kitchen, and I used having to move everything out of the laundry room as an oppurtunity to re-arrange and clean it in a more practical and functional way ( Buffy was responsible for the original layout ) and it occurred to me that if this way doesn't work out for some reason ,I have to pull it all out again in 2 weeks anyway (when the pedestals come in from back-order) so I can make it even better then !
I couldn't stop there ! Oh No !I had been inspired ! One of the things I had pulled out of the washroom was a laundry sorter. You have probably seen one like it , PVC frame, on casters , with three mesh drawstring bags attached to the top. I got this one at Target for $10. Well, we really never used it for that , it ended up just taking up space . So when faced with whether or not tp put it back in the washroom or not, I started trying to think of something to do with it Thanks to pinterest, I am saving all kinds of cans for projects in the garden . They have been on the side porch , in extra large plastic storage bins, that I would really rather use for something else. LIGHT BULB ! :-) I labeled the Laundry sorter and relocated it to the side porch , it is now a recycling/collection bin for my cans ! This saved me from having to throw it away, it also gave me back about 5 square feet of my laundry room , and cleared about 10 square feet of my porch ! I am going to have a porch again ! ( if it kills me,lol ! )
Feeling Oh so accomplished , I decided I would collect Bills old newspapers and move them out of the laundry room , and to the porch , so I would remember to use them for mulch in the flower beds . As of sitting down to write this, I have made a decent sized dent in 'Laundry mountian' , and My mother is coming in the morning to help me out with the rest ( bless her :-)
Wednesday is in one of her super-helpful moods ( I don't suppose it hurst that she really wants a toy at Voldemart and she's earning an allowance, but one of the perks of parenting is taking advantage of this for the sake of " teaching ". ) I also recycled some old rubberized shelf liner by using it under the area rugs on our un-carpeted floors .
Right about now I am feeling pretty damn good ! A little bit like wonder woman even !
I am in the zone !
And I have SO gotten my Groove back !
I have some pretty big plans to keep me hoppin' now ! I can't wait !
